Samsung has recently introduced two groundbreaking sensors in their ISOCELL Vizion lineup. The first sensor is the depth sensing sensor, while the second sensor is the main shutter sensor. These sensors bring significant innovations that offer improved functionality and performance.

The first sensor, Samsung ISOCELL Vizion 63D, is the industry’s first sensor with an integrated ISP (Image Signal Processor) for depth sensing. This allows the sensor to perform calculations independently without the need for an additional chip. This sensor delivers impressive energy savings of up to 40% compared to the previous model, Vizion 33D. With a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and support for a mode of 640 x 480 pixels, this indirect ToF (Time of Flight) sensor provides precise depth measurement.

The second sensor, ISOCELL Vizion 931, is a main shutter sensor that captures all pixels simultaneously. This enables distortion-free capturing and reduces the rolling shutter effect when capturing fast-moving objects or cameras. With a resolution of 640 x 640 pixels, this sensor can be used for various purposes, such as iris recognition, eye tracking, face recognition, and gestures in XR (Extended Reality) devices like AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) glasses.

These sensors have a wide range of applications, including service and industrial robots, XR devices, and facial recognition. Samsung ISOCELL Vizion 63D offers advanced depth sensing capabilities, while ISOCELL Vizion 931 enables high-quality distortion-free capturing. By implementing “multi-drop” technology, Samsung has enabled the connection of up to four Vizion 931 sensors with a single cable, simplifying the product connection process.
