Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to revolutionize nearly a fifth of all jobs, according to research conducted by the leading employment platform, Indeed.
Indeed Hiring Lab, a team established to provide economic research to the global labor market, has discovered that “all jobs have the potential for exposure to changes driven by AI.”
The AI at Work report published by Indeed in September revealed that almost one-fifth (19.8%) of jobs have the highest level of potential exposure, while over a third (34.6%) have the lowest potential exposure.
As one of the largest global employment platforms with over 350 million people using its products for job-seeking every month, Indeed is at the forefront of understanding the impact of AI on the job market.
Filippo Bonsanti, VP of Global Marketing at Indeed, commented on Tuesday (October 17th) that every job will undergo some form of AI transformation, and this trend is already becoming apparent.
During his keynote speech at Unleash World 2023 in Paris, Bonsanti explained how the company utilizes AI to assist employers and potential employees.
Bonsanti stated that the company’s research indicates that while some jobs will disappear, new ones will be created in their place.
“The key is to ensure that we use AI to our advantage as much as possible,” Bonsanti said.
“AI has the potential to achieve great things, we just need to harness the technology for our benefit,” he added.
Bonsanti believes that one of the most dangerous impacts of AI is its potential to be biased.
“The technology we create is a reflection of its creators, and we are those creators,” Bonsanti said.
He further added, “If we have biases, the technology we create will also be biased, and we need to be aware of that.”
