While Apple gears up to launch its new iPhone 16 series later this year, analysts from the multinational Barclays bank in London are predicting that it will actually disrupt the company’s sales in this year. The reason for this, they claim, is that the phones in this series will not have any special and compelling features and improvements compared to the previous generation of devices.
However, the analysis also states that Apple’s services division will not be affected by the decline in device sales in 2024. Despite the slight decline in the company’s stock price, analysts believe that the services division will maintain a steady growth rate.
But what exactly does this analysis mean? Unfortunately, analysts have not provided detailed information about the features of the new phones to support their conclusions. However, leaked information from internal sources suggests that the Pro models will have advanced cameras, including a telephoto “tetraprism” camera. The top model will allegedly also have a so-called “super telephoto” option to differentiate it from other devices in the series.
While analysts claim that the decline in sales will not have a significant impact on the services division, it is expected that the growth of this segment will slow down. Previous predictions showed a 20% growth in fiscal year 2024, but analysts now estimate that the growth will only reach 10%, and in fiscal year 2025, only 8%. Meanwhile, financial reports for 2023 showed that only the services division experienced an increase in revenue, while hardware sales continued to decline.
Although the analysis from Barclays bank is significant, it is important to keep in mind that analysts can also make mistakes. Additionally, Apple has recently unveiled its Vison Pro augmented reality glasses, which analysts did not take into account in their report.
