Google Maps for Android has upgraded its tunnel navigation with the addition of Bluetooth signal support. This new functionality enables drivers to have a smoother and more accurate navigation experience through tunnels, addressing the issue that some users have faced with GPS signal loss in those areas.

Bluetooth signals have been present in the Waze app for some time, but were limited only to that application. Now, this feature has been expanded to Google Maps, allowing a larger number of users to benefit from it. This is great news for drivers who frequently navigate through tunnels, as this additional option will make their journeys easier and enhance safety.

To enable this feature, open the Google Maps app on your Android phone, go to Settings, then Navigation Settings, and find the Drive Options section. There will be a new option that allows scanning of Bluetooth signals in tunnels for more accurate location. By default, this feature is turned off, but it can easily be activated with just a few taps on the screen.

Currently, support for Bluetooth signals in tunnels on iOS devices is not yet available. It is unknown when this feature will be expanded to the iOS platform, but hopefully, it will be soon.

This new feature represents a step forward in improving navigation through the Google Maps app and showcases Google’s dedication to providing the best user experience. Now, drivers will be able to rely on more accurate navigation in tunnels and feel safer during their journeys.
