Microsoft donosi podršku za najnoviji USB standard u Windows operativni sistem

Microsoft has announced that it will be adding support for the latest USB standard, USB4 Gen 4, to its operating system. This support enables transfer speeds of up to 80Gbps on compatible hardware. The USB4 specifications were released by the USB Implementers Forum back in 2019, and Microsoft has now officially added support for USB4 in the Windows 11 version 21H2.

The next generation of USB connections are expected to be featured in the first consumer products, and Microsoft wants to ensure that their operating system is ready for this technology. However, users will require the latest hardware that supports USB4 in order to take advantage of all the benefits this connection offers.

According to sources from Microsoft, USB4 2.0 with speeds of 80Gbps will be supported on select devices featuring Intel’s 14th generation mobile processors. The new Razer Blade 18 will be one of the first Windows laptops to have USB4 2.0 support.

In addition to adding support for USB4, Windows 11 build 23615 also includes the ability to launch the Copilot feature when starting up Windows. This feature is being experimented with in settings with multiple monitors, a size of 27 inches or larger, and a minimum resolution of 1920 pixels.

Microsoft continues to introduce new features into its operating system to provide a better experience for users and support the latest technologies.
