After the recent news, there is a shift in the way Beeper operates. The Beeper Mini application will no longer be available for download from the Google Play Store. However, fear not as the Beeper team has found a solution. They have decided to integrate the iMessage feature into the Beeper Cloud application, which is still accessible to users.
In a message sent to Beeper Cloud users on Thursday, it was announced that iMessage has now been moved to the “Labs” section of the Beeper Cloud app, while the Beeper Mini app has been removed from the Play Store.
Although the Beeper Mini app is no longer available for download from the Play Store, users can still obtain it from the Beeper website through an APK file.
The Beeper team recently announced a final update to the Mini app, but they have now admitted that the long-term maintenance and repairs required to ensure stable iMessage functionality on Android devices are “unsustainable.” Should Apple disrupt the service, Beeper will no longer issue repairs for the application.
The company also stated that competing with Apple, the largest company in the world, has been a challenging battle and they find it difficult to keep up in this game.
Notably, the Beeper team is currently working on enhancing the performance of the Beeper Desktop application and improving the bridges for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Google Messages.
Previously, Apple claimed that the Beeper Mini app posed security and privacy risks to users. However, the Beeper team denies these allegations and accuses Apple of monopolizing iMessage to boost iPhone sales.
While the idea of having iMessage on Android phones may seem dead and buried, the Beeper Cloud app still provides Android users with alternative options.
