Intel recently announced its plans to launch the most powerful desktop processor of the 14th generation – the Intel Core i9 14900KS. This new version of the processor introduces a unique feature – an impressive turbo frequency of 6.2 GHz. Its predecessor, the Core i9 14900K, already reached a frequency of 6 GHz, but we were able to overclock it to 6.2 GHz during our testing. However, with the new Core i9 14900KS, this frequency will be officially declared by the factory.
The information about this new Intel processor first surfaced on the Chinese instant messaging service Tencent QQ, and soon after, it spread on the X network. The leaked photos clearly indicate that it is the Intel Core i9 14900KS processor. However, there are some doubts about the authenticity of these photos as some parts have been darkened to conceal identifying details like the sSpecs identifier.
Although this version of the processor might seem like a surprise, it’s worth noting that rumors about the arrival of the “KS” version of the 14th generation Intel Core processors were already circulating. This practice has been followed in previous generations, so it is expected to continue with the 14th generation as well. In the 13th generation, the “KS” model achieved a frequency of 6.0 GHz, while in the 14th generation, this maximum turbo step will be pushed further to 6.2 GHz, thanks to the selection of special and premium chip versions obtained from the highest quality silicon parts.
While the official release of the Intel Core i9 14900KS is expected in the spring of 2024, these details have not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned as we eagerly await the arrival of this powerful processor that will provide high-performance capabilities for desktop computers.
