As the world becomes increasingly reliant on artificial intelligence (AI) models, the need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect these models has grown exponentially. Researchers have recently identified multiple critical vulnerabilities in the infrastructure used for AI models, posing significant risks to companies rushing to leverage the benefits of AI.

Some of these vulnerabilities remain unpatched, leaving companies exposed to potential cybersecurity threats. The affected platforms are used for hosting, deployment, and sharing of large language models and other machine learning platforms. Among them are Ray, a distributed machine learning model training platform; MLflow, a machine learning lifecycle platform; ModelDB, a machine learning management platform; and H2O version 3, a Java-based machine learning platform.

In response to these vulnerabilities, AI security company Protect AI has conducted an AI-specific bug bounty program called Vodica. Informed maintainers and providers were alerted to these vulnerabilities, allowing them 45 days to address the issues. Each problem received a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifier. While many issues were resolved, others remain outstanding, and Protect AI recommends users to visit their advisory for more information.
